What is suitable to offer
In general, it makes sense to offer items that have a clear use, can be safely handed over and returned, and whose condition and handling you can explain clearly. The easier the item is to understand, the easier the whole rental usually is.
Good examples
- Home, workshop or garden items with a clear purpose.
- Sports or leisure equipment that is complete and working.
- Items that you actually have with you and can hand over on time.
- Items where you can explain what is included and how they should be returned.
It is not only about whether an item seems interesting. It also matters whether you can hand it over safely, explain its use and check its condition when it comes back.
A simple rule
If you would comfortably lend the same item to someone you know and you could explain how to use and return it in a minute or two, it is usually a good starting point for a platform listing too.
When to think twice
- When you are not sure the item is complete or working.
- When you cannot clearly describe its condition or use.
- When pickup or return would be unnecessarily complicated.
- When the item needs very careful handling but you cannot explain it simply.
